ALPHA Program
Please see the following information provided by the Parish, regarding the upcoming Alpha Program that we will host in the Waterford Building starting Thursday 5 October.
Alpha is a faith discovery program that originally begun in London 30 years ago. It is now in 169 countries throughout the world and has been experienced by 29 million guests.
Having conversations about faith, life and Jesus can be hard. But it doesn’t have to be. Alpha creates a space where our friends, family, and neighbours can explore the Christian faith and the meaning of life in a way that is relaxed and respectful.
The format is simple. Over several weeks guests gather to have a meal together, hear a talk on the Christian faith and then have a discussion together in small groups. For so many people Alpha was the catalyst that began, or restored, their faith in Jesus Christ.
On Thursday 5 October, in the Waterford Building, Shalom College, beginning at 5.30pm, our parish will begin Alpha in a Catholic Context. All are welcome to this first session which may begin to answer some of your questions about God, Jesus, life and more.
Class Masses
Each Religious Education class is allocated to a Wednesday morning 8am Mass in Loyola Chapel. The class, along with another, co-hosts this Parish Mass by taking the roles of readers and processors. When your student has an upcoming class Mass, you will receive a notification or an invitation to attend. We warmly welcome all to this weekly joint Parish School celebration. The Year 8 classes will be hosting over the next few weeks:
• Wednesday 13 September Mr Blinco's 8.2 and Mrs Somerfield's 8.7
• Wednesday 11 October Mr Kiernan's 8.3 and 8.9
• Wednesday 18 October Mrs Schuler's 8.1 and 8.6
