Congratulations to our Year 7 student Pyiper R. This year Pyiper made the Indigenous QLD South U15 Basketball team that played at the National Indigenous Basketball Tournament organised by Indigenous Basketball Australia. That took place In Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast in April.
She was then selected in the U12 QLD school girls team and played at the Nationals in WA in August.
Pyiper was also selected into a QLD FDP 12 month program as a younger age player (future development program) which she attended in September. From this she was selected in a QLD U15 team that will be competing at the Southern Cross Challenge National tournament in Melbourne in January 2024.
She was also selected into a new program called the 'next-gen shooting program'. This is a 12-month program.
Also, after playing Oz-Tag in All schools Pyiper was selected in the Merit QLD team.
She also represented Wide Bay for AFL and Basketball.
Welcome to the HPP.
Her basketball coach, who has been coaching for over 20 years – told me she is the most talented basketball player, he has ever coached.
Congratulations and well done Pyiper.
