Last week at a ceremony held at the Bundaberg Multiplex, Yangyang L in Year 12 was granted her Australian Citizenship. Yangyang arrived in Australia from Qin Zhou in southern China and was enrolled at Shalom for Year 8, 2019.  Yangyang’s first language is Mandarin and during the past five years, she has worked extremely hard to master English and achieves at a very high level across all subjects. Yangyang hopes to go onto tertiary study in the health field in 2024. She has been an active member of our College Chamber String Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra having also undertaken to learn the violin in Year 9. This has been a highlight for Yangyang during her time at Shalom College.
