Desilva D (Year 9) emerged as a quiet achiever in Damien House during her three years at our school. We would like to celebrate the contribution of Desilva in Damien House and in various pursuits at Shalom College. Academically Desilva always works well with her teachers to excel in her classes, including being a team member that made the final of the 2023 CSB Shark Tank. Her industrious approach to schoolwork also applies to other extra curricula activities. Desilva is a member of the school rowing team, was part of the 2023 winning Junior Debating team and always participates for Damien House wholeheartedly at carnival days in swimming, athletics, cross country and Shalom Day.

Over the years Desilva has emerged as a fantastic contributor to her PC class supporting classmates and her teacher. With the imminent destruction of the Damien building, Desilva has actively been campaigning to find Damien House a new home, including writing an argumentative essay for Mr McMahon. Our quiet achiever certainly keeps herself busy.

Desilva’s kindness and care for others, as well as her commitment to Damien House make her worthy of commendation as this week’s quiet achiever.
