On Wednesday 21 February, 8 Year 9 students attended the Bundaberg Region Intrapreneurship Day hosted by the Bundaberg Regional Council and run by Young Change Agents.

Along with students from other regional schools our Shalom students had a great day addressing sustainability issues in the Bundaberg region.

Our two teams were:

Desilva D, Alan B, Rebecca G & Peyton C

Ryder D, Connor P, Rhys N & Archer K

I would like to thank both teams for all of the hard they put in on the day.

They listen to Industry experts from many different areas outlining what the major issues are in their industries. Students then workshopped creative ideas on how to address some of these issues. This culminated in a team presentation where they explain and modelled their unique solution to an identified problem.

The top three presentations were awarded a prize whereby they will be able to work with the Young Change Agent team to further develop their ideas.

Both teams presented their ideas very well but congratulations goes to the boys’ teams for coming in third and winning the opportunity to work further on their innovative idea – “The Leftovers” app. So, watch this space to see what they come up with in the future.
