Australian Kart Championship 

Congratulations to Ky B for Round 1 of the Australian Kart Championship.

Ky experienced the highs and lows of motorsport last weekend. Practice was really positive and Ky was fast. In qualifying, Ky’s kart did not start until he was pushed passed the green line. This resulted in Ky being disqualified. In the 4 laps Ky competed in qualifying, he was quick and was on top. Unfortunately these times did not count.

Heat 1 – Started in 38^th, finished 9^th
Heat 2 – Started 38^th, finished 9^th with a 2 place drop down penalty (11^th)
Heat 3 – Started 10^th, finished 4^th with a 2 place drop down penalty (6^th)
Heat 4 – Started 7^th, finished 1^st but had a drop down penalty and also a 10sec penalty (13^th)
Final – started 6^th, finished 4^th

Overall an amazing comeback from not setting a qualifying time, and starting the first two heats from 38^th position. He bagged a handful of points for the championship. Round 2 is at Puckapunyal in April.

He is a legend! All the best for round 2.

Schoolboys QLD Under 15s Cricket Coach

Congratulations to Mr Simon Gills, our Sports Coordinator at Shalom.

Simon has been appointed Coach of the QLD Under 15 Schoolboys team to play at the Nationals held in Mackay in September 2024.
