Project Compassion – Thank you!

Throughout Lent we have encouraged a commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through Project Compassion and now we would like to say thank you to everyone in the Shalom community for getting behind this cause. The money raised we have raised will be used by Caritas to educate and empower. Funds have been gathered from the Chisholm Pancake sale on Shrove Tuesday, the Damien House coin line, the Henna Hands in Harmony Week as well as the Crazy Hair and Socks Day. We also have cash and online donations happening.

Easter Sacraments

The Easter Vigil is, and has long been, THE night for initiating new members into our Catholic Church.  This year we have three Shalom students, Eloise B, Freddie J and Evelyn J, who will receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist at this celebration.  We look forward to sharing this special celebration with them and wish them God’s richest blessings.

Easter Mass Times

Masses

Gathering as a community to participate in Mass is central to being Catholic. As a Catholic School, we provide opportunities for students and staff to participate in Masses, regardless of their own faith background or none. Therefore, each House will join with another, to celebrate a House Mass during one of their timetabled Assembly times in Term 2 or Term 3.

Each Religious Education class will also cohost a Wednesday morning Mass at 8am in our chapel. This Mass occurs during term time and is a Parish Mass, so it is open to all. The Mass finishes before the 8.40am bell. Religious Education teachers will email a notice to families prior to their allocated Mass, and we encourage attendance. Upcoming Masses will be hosted by our Senior students.
