Shalom College Cross Country
The Shalom College Cross Country scheduled for Tuesday 26 March has been postponed.
The new date for the Cross Country is Week 1 in Term 2 - Tuesday April 16.
This Cross Country event will be a Championship event (similar to the Shalom Swimming Carnival format). Students will have to nominate to compete. This is NOT the InterHouse Cross Country event. This is NOT a compulsory school event. It is nomination only. This event will take place in school time on Tuesday April 16 – during Period 4
The Championship Cross Country event will be used for awarding Age Champions and for selecting the Shalom Cross Country team that will compete at the BDSSS event in Week 2 – Term 2.
All competition distances will be;
- Boys born 2008 or older run 6km
- Boys born 2009/2010 run 4km
- Boys born 2011/2012 run 3km
- Girls born 2010 or older run 4km
- Girls born 2011/2012 run 3k

*There will be a InterHouse Cross Country/Fun run event later in the year, where the InterHouse Trophy will be awarded. Date TBC.

State Athletics Championships
Koby I attended the McDonalds State Athletics Championships held over the weekend. He competed in the U14 1500m Race Walk gaining 2nd place and acceptance into the QLD team who will be heading to Adelaide next month to compete at the Australian Little Athletics Championships.
Congratulations Koby and all the best for Adelaide.

Australian National Track Cycling Championships
Congratulations to Cruz K and Elise V who competed at the Australian National Championships held in Brisbane over 5 days for Track Cycling.
Cruz placed Top 10 for 5 events, with 7th being his top place in the Sprints reaching a speed of over 56km/hr. He raced personal bests times and certainly improved significantly from states. He was commended on his attitude and was awarded Queensland Spirit Award after Day 3 of competition.
Elise competed in all 6 events. Placing 8th overall in 5 events and 6th in another. PBs in all events and a commendation from the State team selectors including the coaches. Elise is a first year competitor in the under 15 age group and competed against girls older than her.
