Mission

Holy Week Assembly

On Thursday 28 March we held our Holy Week Assembly. This year’s assembly led us through the Stations of the Cross, the final steps of the journey that Jesus made.  In keeping with our theme ‘Garden of Life’, as Tia S took us through each Station, Simon M mirrored it with the contemporary challenge of deforestation. For Christians, responding to environmental issues is about living out our faith and recognising the divine mystery in all things. Therefore, as we reflected on the responsibility that falls on humanity to look after this glorious world, students and staff were asked to also allow their heart and mind to be open to the message of the Easter story.

Easter Sacraments

During the Easter Vigil Mass at the Holy Rosary Church, we welcomed new members into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist. Many in our Parish community joined in this wonderful celebration. We wish those who received these sacraments every blessing as they continue their faith journey. From our Shalom community, we congratulate staff member, Mr Steven Jenes, and students, Eloise B, Freddie J and Evelyn J.

Masses

Gathering as a community to participate in Mass is central to being Catholic. As a Catholic School, we provide opportunities for students and staff to participate in Masses, regardless of their own faith background or none. Therefore, each House will join with another, to celebrate a House Mass during one of their timetabled Assembly times in Term 2 or Term 3.

Each Religious Education class will also cohost a Wednesday morning Mass at 8am in our chapel. This Mass occurs during term time and is a Parish Mass, so it is open to all. The Mass finishes before the 8.40am bell. Religious Education teachers will email a notice to families prior to their allocated Mass, and we encourage attendance. Upcoming Masses will be hosted by our Senior students.
