Mission
Mass with Children
Last Sunday we had our first Mass with Children at St Patrick’s Church at 9 am. There were quite a lot of families in attendance which was lovely to see. Thank you to our Shalom singers, Charlotte and Vivienne who led the congregation in singing. Vivienne also sang the Psalm beautifully. Students from all our Catholic schools were involved in the Readings, Prayer of the Faithful and taking up the gifts.
Fr Don’s homily was a dialogue with the children which worked very well and they were happy to be involved.
If you have a young person, Primary or High School, who would like to be involved in some way, whether reading, singing or taking up the gifts, please let your school know.
We will be having a Mass with Children on the fourth Sunday of every month and everyone is invited.
Masses
Gathering as a community to participate in Mass is central to being Catholic. As a Catholic School, we provide opportunities for students and staff to participate in Masses, regardless of their own faith background or none. Therefore, each House will join with another, to celebrate a House Mass during one of their timetabled Assembly times in Term 2 or Term 3.
Each Religious Education class will also cohost a Wednesday morning Mass at 8am in our chapel. This Mass occurs during term time and is a Parish Mass, so it is open to all. The Mass finishes before the 8.40am bell. Religious Education teachers will email a notice to families prior to their allocated Mass, and we encourage attendance. Upcoming Masses will be hosted by our Senior students.
