Vicki Wilson Regional Round Wrap-Up

Open Girls & Open Boys Teams – Kylee Johnstone & Nadia Tairawhiti

The Open Girls and Open Boys teams both came third in their respective divisions, the girls winning 4 of their 6 games and the boys winning 5 of their 6 games, but were pipped at the post in gripping semi-final games.

The opportunity for game play and to form connections on court was invaluable and both teams show great promise in their preparation for the QISSN Carnival in June.

Junior Vicki Wilson Team #1 – Melinda Pearson

Apart from being undefeated champions of the Shield division, I would love to highlight that it was a true team effort – every player contributed positively, regardless of the position they were thrust into. Defence wins games and on Friday, the team’s defence throughout the court was sensational and really did set the platform for their success.

Junior Vicki Wilson Team #2 – Nikki Somerfield

The Vicki Wilson Development Team had a fabulous carnival winning all four of their games against other development teams and Vicki Wilson Shield teams. The girls demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, team work and were willing to play out of position to fill spots on the court due to injury. It has been a pleasure to watch the girls come together as a team, take on feedback and implement it on the court and show commitment to training. Thank you to all of the parents that came and supported the girls and scored for us.
