Rowing - Oarsome Opportunity Available

With Sports Sign on fast approaching, we wanted to share with you a different sport - Rowing. Rowing is a unique school team sport that is only offered in high school.

NEW_SHALOM_ROWING_LOGO.jpg

Shalom has a strong rowing team and is looking for new recruits. Training is twice a week on the river at different times (not all crews train early morning, some train in the afternoon). There is also extra training available after school at the gym and with the rowing machines. The school competition involves two practice regattas and the final competitive Head of River Regatta in Semester 1. Then there is an opportunity to compete in more regattas in Semester 2 against other regions. There is a yearly fee due to boats, facilities, maintenance and insurance. Shalom Rowing is a fun family orientated group that is involved in all aspects of rowing – coaching, fundraising, maintenance, cleaning etc. Rowing is an all over body workout that not only builds students physically but supports their mental, emotional and social growth and development. If your child is interested, please sign on via Sia and we will communicate about our Come and Try mornings soon. Looking forward to seeing this oarsome team grow. Thanks Rowing Coordinators Teressa Tibbey and Rod Silcox
