Mission
QISSN and QISSRL Mass
On the last Wednesday of Term 2, the celebration of our morning Mass included a blessing of the playing uniforms as well as the students and staff attending the QISSN and QISSRL competitions. The Mass was presided by Fr Sijo and attended by the large group of students who were preparing for the long journey to Townsville to compete in the holidays.
Catholic Education Week
Celebrated annually in week 3 of term 3, Catholic Education Week is an opportunity for all 312 Catholic schools in Queensland to celebrate and promote their distinctive mission and ethos.
As in previous years, we will begin the week with a combined Catholic Schools Mass at Holy Rosary Church on Sunday 21 July at 5.30pm. Everyone is welcome to join in this celebration with our Primary school families and local parishioners.
Masses
Gathering as a community to participate in Mass is central to being Catholic. As a Catholic School, we provide opportunities for students and staff to participate in Masses, regardless of their own faith background or none. Therefore, each House will join with another, to celebrate a House Mass during one of their timetabled Assembly times in Term 2 or Term 3.
Each Religious Education class will also cohost a Wednesday morning Mass at 8am in our chapel. This Mass occurs during term time and is a Parish Mass, so it is open to all. The Mass finishes before the 8.40am bell. Religious Education teachers will email a notice to families prior to their allocated Mass, and we encourage attendance. Upcoming Masses will be hosted by our Senior students.
