Shalom Netball Program
QISSN Campaign Wrap-Up
Our 2024 QISSN campaign has come to an end and has been a massive undertaking for both of our netball teams and all who were involved. We had 4 months of trainings, trial games and the Vicki Wilson Competition, that prepared us well for the 5-day QISSN carnival in Townsville.
Our week away was super busy filled with brilliant netball, fun group activities and creating connections with a great group of Students, Staff and Supporters. We had it all… 14-hour bus rides, laughter, tears, scrapes & tumbles, Vinnies night, screaming, TikToks, forgotten playing shoes, walk-offs, walk-outs, ping pong matches, breath taking views, swimming with crocs, heckling at footy and we topped it all off with an amazing State of Origin experience (thanks to our generous Rugby League Coordinator Mr Adam Booth) ?
It was beautiful to see our Shalom spirit alive and well so far from home and everyone represented Shalom well
Our girls’ team had many highlights and some challenging moments as well, but they played with their hearts on their sleeves and put in a huge effort each and every game making Coach Kylee very proud. They finished 5th place in Division 4 and are hungry to challenge for a higher placing in 2025.
Our boys’ team had some tough competition again this year, they handled the pressure well though and improved with every game they played. Their efforts paid off and they did one better than last year finishing 4th place in Division 1.
At the end of the Carnival we celebrated the following accolades:
- Sienna N and Chase M who were named MVPs for Shalom College.
- Xavier F was selected as Players Player.
- Lincoln L for making the Rising Stars Merit Team.
- Chase M for making the All Stars Merit Team.
We sincerely wish to thank everyone, Sponsors, Families, Staff and Students, for supporting us throughout our QISSN journey this year… it is very much appreciated ❣❣❣
Overall, it was a good campaign and a quality experience for most. Excitingly, Shalom College will be hosting QISSN next year, and this will mark 25 years of QISSN Carnivals since Shalom started the event in 1999, so we look forward to those celebrations.
