Congratulations to the Shalom Athletics Team and Team Managers (Mrs Somerfield and Mr McMah) for a very successful two days last week.  Shalom scooped the pool (or should I say track) and won the Junior and Senior Divisions. Shalom students also claimed four Age Champions: Charlie E (12yrs Boys), Josie P (15yrs Girls), Lachlan C (tied in the 17yrs Boys) and Hannah R (18yrs Girls). A Bundy District Team will now be selected to compete at the Wide Bay Carnival on August 26-27.

Gymnastics

Recently Ari B competed and represented Gymfinty at the Central Queensland Junior Regional Championships held in Gladstone. This event consisted of 8 Clubs from Regional Queensland competing in both Men's Artistic Gymnastics & Women’s Artistic gymnastics.

Ari was awarded 1st Place Overall Champion for MAG Level 4 with the highest overall score for the day for the combined apparatus.

Ari also placed on 5 x apparatus receiving five medals (4 x silver & 1 x bronze). These apparatus included Rings, High Bars, Pommel Horse, Parrel Bars, Vault & Floor.

Ari has now been selected for the Central Queensland Regional Challenge Team. Only six gymnasts were selected form the regional club teams to represent the Central Queensland Regional Challenge Team. This event will take place later in the year at the Queensland Junior States, which will be held in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast - TBA.

Ari will also be competing for Gymfinity and individually in the Queensland Junior States.

Ari is scheduled to compete again in four weeks at the Gladstone Invitationals.  Congrats and good luck Ari!

Football

Congratulations to Shalom student Darius S, who represented Wide Bay 10-12 years in Football at the Queensland State Championships in Townsville two weeks ago.

Lachlan T was also selected to represent the Wide Bay 10-12 years team, however, was unable to attend due to injury.

Lawn Bowls

Congrats to Phoebie R on representing Qld in the Junior Bowls Tri Series between QLD NSW and VIC. Unfortunately Qld did not win any of the shields but the team (and Phoebie) played extremely well. Phoebie won a fours game where she played as a second and also won a triples game where she played as skip. In all the other games Phoebie played including pairs as a lead and fours as a third, they went down by only 2-3 shots.

Rugby League

Congratulations to Mahli P, Sebella M and Tara C on their selection in the Wide Bay 13-14yrs Girls Rugby League team over the weekend. The girls will contest the State titles in Carina later this Term. And special thanks to Mr Hobson for Coaching the Bundy School Girls team at the trials.

Also congrats to Mykyrn H on her selection in the Wide Bay 10-12yrs School Girls Rugby League team that will compete in the State Carnival in Carina later this Term.
