Description of Service

My job as your local MP is to be accessible to you, listen to your concerns and assist you with any state government matters. I am available to constituents in my Bargara office, and make regular visits across the Burnett electorate including Moore Park Beach, Burnett Heads, Childers, Miriam Vale, Baffle Creek and Agnes Water. I would be delighted if you would join me for a cuppa and a chat at one of my mobile offices across region. Please contact my office to find out when I’ll be in your area next.

In addition, my office can help with a range of services, from helping you to track down information on government departments and community organisations, to coordinating Justice of the Peace applications, providing letters of support for community groups and arranging congratulatory letters for special birthdays and anniversaries.

Last week, the Shalom Junior Vicki Wilson netball team travelled to Brisbane to compete in the State Finals of the Vicki Wilson Competition. The Vicki Wilson Netball Competition is a long running, state-wide netball competition open to all schools (state and non-state). 

In the junior division, the competition started back in April with 126 schools from across the state (Peninsula to Gold Coast). Regional winners then progressed to the 20-team State Final competition.

Placed in a pool which held the eventual runners-up (Moreton Bay College) and 5th placed (Mountain Creek SHS) teams, the Shalom College team played some excellent netball over the two days, taking a couple of big hits along the way in their playoff games (Glenala SHS and Canterbury College). 

The girls finished in 10th place, which is their highest placing in this competition since 2019. It also means they finished as the highest placed regional school across both junior and senior divisions in the 2024 competition!
