ROK Superfinal - Karting
Recently Ky B competed at the ROK Superfinal, Lonato, South Garda, Italy. He had 2 days of practice to try and learn the difficult track. Unfortunately, the 2 days practice was under beautiful, sunny conditions and the competition was miserable and rained most of the time. Ky qualified 16th in his group, 46th overall out of 101 drivers entered in the Junior ROK category.
Heat 1 - started out of position 18, finished 15th (sustained some damage to the front end of his kart)
Heat 2 - started out of position 18 , finished 7th
Heat 3 - started out of position 18, finished 8th
Heat 4 - started out of position 18, finished 7th
Heat 5 - started out of position 18, finished 10th
To gain a position in the prefinal, you had to finish in the top 72. Ky was ranked 24th out of 101 drivers.
Prefinal - started out of position 12th, finished 7th
The final consisted of the top 36 drivers. Ky's ranking improved to 20th.
Final - started out of position 20th, finished 12th (13th with penalty)
Ky had mega speed in the final, setting one of the fastest times. He had a great result considering 100+ drivers for the weekend. This was Ky's first race in South Garda, Lonato. Big thanks goes to Energy Corse Racing Karts Italy, Mattia his mechanic and Angus his driver coach.
