Principal's Reflection
Christmas lights are adorning houses everywhere and another huge round of retail marketing is underway around the nation and the world. Who doesn’t love Christmas? Calvin’s friend, Hobbes, might give all of us a reason to pause a moment before we drown in the commercialism of the season. As we get towards the end of another year, for what are and should we, be grateful? 2024 has brought its share of loss and difficulty but there has also been plenty of love and resilience. Be grateful. Jesus was born into the world as a promise of hope, justice and a much better world. Our job is to do our part to make that happen. Every blessing of the season to all.
We farewell a number of staff from Shalom at the end of this year. I have said and written previously about the profound impact Ms Elizabeth Austin-Campbell has had on the College and she will be missed. Joining her moving on to new ventures will be:
Ms Jo-Anne Thomson, Ms Larissa Scoles, Mr Sean Udal, Ms Camilla Cook, Ms Katie Campbell, Mr Ian Jenner, Mr Steve Tucker and Ms Colleen McDade-Broer.
We also bid farewell to some wonderful Support Staff in Ms Femia Eizema, Mr Rod Silcox, Ms Keeley O’Mara, Ms Eloise O’Driscoll and Mr Michael Bundesen.
And we wish every success in their next phase to our wonderful ‘Gappies’ of 2024: Rebecca Bond, Mia Cameron, Pat Connolly, Paige Davis, Oliver Jansen, Kaitlyn Johnson, Emily Olive-Coleman, Eloise Ray, Elissa Shears, Nate Sologenkin, Paige Winzer & Candace Walsh.
