Welcome back to all our families and a big welcome to our new 2025 Shalom families. This year is set to be another wonderful and busy year at the college.
My name is Mrs Kate Aplin and I am the new Assistant Principal – Curriculum and I look forward to working with parents, students and staff to ensure a smooth delivery of the school’s curriculum.
Key staff who support our students are:
• Dean of Senior School - Mrs Allen
• Dean of Middle School - Mrs Munckton
• Dean of Inclusive Learning - Mrs Staley
• Pathways Coordinator - Mrs O’Donnell
• Dean of Student Welfare - Mr Robinson and Mr Eke
We look forward to working together in partnership with you and all our staff to assist your student/s the best way possible.
Subject Changes
Year 11 students and parents were advised of this process and timeline. Reminder students and parents can access the interview booking sheet via SIA. Deadline for changes is Friday 7 February.
Students in Year 10 can apply for an elective subject change by visiting the Pathways office by Thursday 13 February at either lunch or afternoon tea.
Students in Year 9 can apply for an elective subject change by visiting the office of Mrs Munckton by Thursday 13 February at either lunch or afternoon tea.
Students who wish to apply for a program amendment (study) due to an external course such as TAFE, a traineeship or a school-based apprenticeship need to see Ms O'Donnell for the application form. These changes will not be processed until your course begins.
Middle School
Year 7 and Year 9 students will sit the NAPLAN online tests from Wednesday 12 March – Monday 21 March. There will be an opportunity for students to participate in practice NAPLAN tests leading into the testing period.
If you have any concerns about NAPLAN or if you wish to withdraw your student from NAPLAN testing, please contact Mrs Munckton, Dean of Middle School, megan_munckton@rok.catholic.edu.au
Please note: all students MUST have corded headphones or earphones to undertake the NAPLAN Online testing. This is the responsibility of families to ensure that students have their earphones or headphones for all test days, including the practice test. These headphones/earphones must have a 3.5mm standard jack. Wireless headphones (e.g. Apple air pods) are not compatible. If you need to purchase headphones or earphones, we suggest you do this as soon as possible.
Tutoring Timetable Term 1
Tutoring is offered by a number of teaching staff across a range of subject areas outside of class time. Please refer to the below Term 1 Tutoring Timetable and encourage your child to make contact with the teacher if they feel they would like additional assistance via tutoring.
