Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commencement Celebration and Mass
During Week 6, a group of eight First Nations students travelled to Rockhampton to take part in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commencement Celebration and Mass alongside other First Nations students from the Diocese.
Over the course of two days, they participated in a Leadership Day, which included icebreakers and leadership activities, allowing them time to reflect on their future goals. The students also had the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with a panel of First Nations employers, culminating in a Leadership Dinner featuring guest presenter Dr. Melinda Mann.
On their final day, the Year 12 students attended a meaningful Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, where they received an Indigenous Leadership badge and were blessed by Bishop Michael.
