Brisbane Lions AFL U16 team

Congratulations to Shalom student Nikita C who was selected into the Brisbane Lions AFL u16 team for the upcoming Marsh series National Championships.

Nikita will play games against GWS, GC Suns, Vic metro and South Australia.    Last weekend Nikita and the Lions won 116-19 against GWS.  Nikita travels to Brisbane weekly for games and training and the hard work is paying off.

Bundy All Schools Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to the Shalom swimming team on claiming the Bundy Champion School at the recent Bundy All Schools Swimming Carnival.  Shalom finished 2nd overall behind a very strong Chanel College team from Gladstone.

National Triathlon/Aquathlon School Championships

Congratulations to Shalom students Jack G, Max O, Atlanta D and Shalom staff member Mrs Rebecca Jenner, on representing Queenland School Sport at the National Triathlon/Aquathlon titles in WA.

Atlanta claimed a National silver medal in the Aquathlon event while Jack finished 19th and Max 29th in the Triathlon event.  Great achievements from all.

Queensland State Championships - Athletics

Congratulations to Koby I who recently competed in Brisbane at the Little Athletics State Championships in the 1500m Race Walk. Koby placed 2nd in Queensland and has now been selected to represent Queensland at the Australian Little Athletics Championships in Adelaide, at the end of April.

Queensland State Championships - Junior Athletics

Riley M competed in the triple jump at the Queensland State Championships for Australia Junior Athletics. Achieving a distance of 11.92 meters, not a PB for Riley but definitely enough to place 3rd in the state. Riley has now earnt the opportunity to compete 2025 Australian Junior (Underage) Athletics Championships in Perth, Western Australia this April. Best of luck Riley!

Queensland Swimming Championships

Well done and congratulations to Ethan G, Koby I and Lara P for representing Wide Bay at the Queensland Swimming Championships in Brisbane.

Ethan G: 2nd 200m Butterfly by 0.01, 5th 100m Butterfly, 9th 50m butterfly, 15th 100m Freestyle and 24th 50m Freestyle.

Koby I: 5th 100m Breaststroke, 17th 200m Freestyle, 11th 400m Freestyle, 6th 50m Breaststroke, 21st 100m Freestyle, 14th 200IM and 200m Breaststroke.

Lara P: 20th 50m Freestyle, 9th 100m Butterfly, 18th 50m Butterfly.
