STEM program
Archer K (Year 8) recently attended the Junior Engagement Program by SPARQ-ed on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 February at the Translational Research Institute in Woolloongabba, Brisbane. As a regional student he was successful acquiring a Lions Medical Research Foundation Scholarship to cover his program and travel costs. Over the two day program he undertook the following activities.
- Gain experience using the latest technology and techniques in our state-of-the-art PC2 biomedical research laboratory
- Collaborate with peers in a real research environment
- Participate in biomedical science tutorials in our classroom
- Learn valuable academic research skills
Archer loved participating in this extra curricular STEM program and is looking forward to Year 10 when he can attend the Senior Immersion Program.
