On Wednesday 4 June, we sent a team of five students to Gin Gin State High School to complete in the Wide Bay Burnett (Junior) Readers Cup.

Jessica H., Loretta B., Chloe A., Paige K., and Isla L. were accompanied by Mr Richardson and Ms Joyce and finished very respectfully in the middle of the field.

The girls had a great time and we really appreciate the students who are enthusiastically engaged, not only in books and reading, but in representing their school. Well done girls!

Next term it will be a team from our 9 and 10 cohorts who will travel to Kepnock State High School with Mrs Hume and Mr Church.

Our new Literary Ambassadors are working hard to promote the Literary committee’s events, primarily:

• The student Reading Passport Project,
• The Shalom Literary Wonders writing competition, and
• Shalom’s First Draft Writer’s Festival.

We are also planning a week of fun for Book Week in Term 3, so keep an ear out for coming news of those activities.
