From the Library
On Friday 1 August the Shalom Year 9/10 Readers Cup team participated in a tough but thrilling test of knowledge on four novels in the Wide Bay Readers Cup Competition.
The girls were amazing with their depth of knowledge and at the end of the five rounds Shalom and St Luke's went to a tie breaker for an unknown top spot. St Luke's prevailed by the closest of margins and Shalom came away with an incredible 3rd place.
The girls prepared so well.
The team of Desilva D, Matanah L, Georgia H, Chelsea C, Olivia C and Eloise W represented Shalom splendidly. We had six students prepare, however only five could go due to number restrictions.
A great effort. Read on!
The Reader Cup event, like so many other literary projects, is organised by a collaborative committee of staff from the library and teaching staff and assisted by a small army of year 11 literary ambassadors.
Many thanks must go to Mr Church for accompanying our senior Readers’ Cup team to Kepnock High School for this event.
