Congratulations to Shalom student Phoebie R who has been selected as one of 5 girls going to Tasmania in November to represent Queensland at the National Championships.
On the back of Phoebie’s recent competitions where she represented Queensland, Phoebie came back with a 3rd place overall and a bronze medal in the Australian School Sport Championships. At the Tri Series, Queensland came away 3rd overall, which was a little disappointing, but they played some good matches. Phoebie played 6 games, with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. The Tri series was used to pick the final team for nationals.
Congratulations Phoebie and good luck representing Qld in your last year of U18s!!

2025 Dolphins Challenge Champions
Shalom College has capped off an incredible season by claiming its very first Dolphins Challenge title with a 24–0 win over Rockhampton Grammar in the Grand Final.
After withstanding some early pressure from Rockhampton Grammar, our Year 10 boys quickly found their rhythm. The forwards laid a strong platform, allowing Shalom to capitalise and surge to an 18–0 halftime lead. Tries to Zac O, Lachlan R, and Freddy M provided the perfect start, with a late penalty goal extending the advantage heading into the break.
Grammar came out firing after the break, lifted by their vocal home crowd, but our defence stood tall and absorbed everything that was thrown at us. The match settled into a real grind before winger Riley M sealed the win with a late runaway try to spark the celebrations.
It was a true team effort, with every player contributing to the result. There were plenty of standouts with Lachlan R being superb at fullback with strong kick returns and some crucial last-ditch defence, while centres Preston J and Hunter W-E were rock solid on the edges. Our forward pack worked tirelessly, winning the battle in the middle and laying the platform for the backs to shine, ensuring the victory was built on contributions right across the field.
The Coaching staff were full of praise for the boys:
“To go through undefeated is a fantastic achievement.” Adam B
“A gritty performance, the boys held their nerve and got the job done.” Robert R
“They’ve worked extremely hard since November to reach this point.” – Antonio K
A huge congratulations to our team for finishing the season undefeated and bringing home the Dolphins Challenge trophy, a fantastic reward for all their hard work and dedication!
Thank you to our program Sponsors; we are incredibly grateful for your generous and ongoing support. Your commitment makes a real difference in helping our students and teams thrive.
