Subject Selection Forms for 2026

Could any Year 8 or Year 9 students who still have not returned their signed paper copy of their subject selections for 2026 please do so ASAP.

Year 11 Exam Block

The Year 11 Exam block begins tomorrow, Tuesday 9th of September. The timetable for this exam block has been published and all students should know when their exams are scheduled. The guidelines for what students can and can’t do are published in SIA. Any absences for these exams need to be supported with a medical certificate and communicated to the absentee line, and myself. We will then coordinate for students to either catch up the exam during an alternate session in the exam block, or to sit a supplementary exam session on Tuesday 16th of September. If you have any concerns, please contact me.

Year 12 Mock and External Assessments

As you would be aware, the Year 12 Mock Exam block has commenced today. All information required for both the Mock and External Assessment is available in SIA:  https://schoolbox.shalomcollege.com/homepage/6641

These mock exams are used in order to practice the strict rules of the External Exam block, so students are not disadvantaged when the QCAA are here checking our processes. In addition, Year 12 teachers will use the mock exams to guide their practice in the first three weeks of next term as to what areas need to be revised the most. We encourage all students to participate to the best of their ability in order to receive feedback on their progress to date.

Students who do not have any exams in the next two weeks are encouraged to work on their IA4 assessments or complete modules for the Certificate courses. Teachers may ask students to attend sessions during this time to catch them up. Please support your child to be engaged in their studies during this time.

Year 12 Results

We encourage all Year 12 students to check their myQCE account to ensure that they can view their confirmed Internal Assessment results and their projected QCE Eligibility. They need to have a private email address registered to their account – if students used their school email address to initially register, they should update this to a private email address.

At the end of the year, students will access their final subject results, including their External Exam results, their Senior Statement, and their Queensland Certificate of Education in their myQCE Student Portal account hence it is vital that they check that they can access this portal now.
