Project Compassion
Many of you will be familiar with the annual fundraising event ‘Project Compassion’. For over 55 years, Caritas Australia has worked hand in hand with the most marginalised and remote communities in Australia and overseas to confront the challenges of poverty. During Lent, money collected in the Project Compassion fundraising drive is used for this purpose. Throughout Lent, we encourage students to commit to justice with the simple act of giving. Project Compassion boxes can be found throughout the school and in Pastoral Care classrooms.
Year 12 students were presented with their senior ties during House Assemblies last week. Like the badges they received last week, these ties are an outward sign to our College Community that they accept the responsibilities that servant leadership brings. Servant leadership places the needs others at the centre of decision-making by incorporating the model of Jesus found in the Gospels.
Lingiari supports Phoenix House
Adam Palmer from Phoenix House spoke at the Lingiari House Assembly last week about the services and support they provide in our community. It was a good experience for the students who were able to find out more about their House Charity and how the fundraising Lingiari students do assist people in our town. During his visit, student representatives were also able to present Mr Palmer with their 2022 fundraising cheque.
