Earlier in the term we congratulated 12 Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students who have received a QATSIF Scholarship for their senior years of schooling. QATSIF was created to give Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families increased educational choices and life opportunities. QATSIF provides educational scholarships to support eligible First Nations students with the educational costs of their senior studies. Those funds represent the toil of previous generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Queenslanders who laboured under now-repealed control laws and policies. QATSIF will always stand as a permanent and positive legacy for the future, and we are thankful for QATSIF for allowing the Indigenous Education Support Team here at Shalom College to help guide and support our senior First Nations students to graduation.
