Hockey National Championship

Congratulations to Ethan K and Connor C who were QLD Hockey representatives for the National Championship held in Darwin from Saturday 15 April - Friday 21 April 2023.

Ethan K was Goalkeeper for the Queensland Maroon Under 15 Boys Hockey team that played at the Nationals in Darwin.  They won the Gold Medal.

The team was undefeated after the 5 pool rounds and after a close semi final game against WA where Ethan made some great saves to help win the game.  They then played the final against VIC and won 8-1.

Congratulations Ethan. National Champion!!

Congratulations also to Connor C who represented the Queensland Gold Under 15 Boys Hockey team for the same Nationals.  Connor's team finished 3rd in Pool B, finishing up in equal 5th place.  

Congratulations Connor. Go Queensland!!

Australian Kart Championships

Congratulations to HPP student Ky B. Ky and his family have recently returned from Wanneroo, Western Australia where Ky competed in Round 2 of the Australian Kart Championships.  Ky is the youngest competitor (just turned 13) in the Elite Junior Class, KA2. He races against competitors from 13-15 years of age.  These karts reach a speed of 115km/h.  Ky is now sitting 3rd place for the series.  The next round will be held in Newcastle, NSW in June. Ky qualified P11 and other results are as follows:

Heat 1 - 4th
Heat 2 - 9th
Heat 3 - DNF (did not finish) after being turned around by another kart
Heat 4 - 1st
Final - 3rd

Well done Ky and goodluck for the next round.

Shalom Rugby League

Congratulations to the 12 years Shalom Rugby League students.  Over the weekend a number of Shalom students were involved in the Sullivan Shield Series in Rockhampton for School Rugby League. They played against Mackay (drew 6-6). They won against Port Curtis (12-6) and lost to Rockhampton (32-0).

This Thursday 4 and Friday 5 May they will attend the Wide Bay trails in Hervey Bay. Well done to all players and good luck.

Table Tennis

Congratulations to Lincoln C who competed in the QLD State Table Tennis Championships in Townsville during the recent school holidays. He won the Bronze medal in the Under 13s Doubles and Bronze in Under 13s Teams.

Lincoln has been selected into the QLD Team and will play in the Nationals in Sydney during the July school holidays.

Congratulations Lincoln and all the best for the upcoming Nationals.
