Rowing - Head of River Success!!!
The local schools rowing season has come to an end, as the final Bundaberg All Schools Combined Head of River Regatta was held on Sunday 11 June. Shalom put in their strongest performance yet. In the 37 events we were nominated in, we brought home 18 x Gold, 21 x Silver and 11 x Bronze. Our oarsome gold medallist are listed below:

A special shout out to our Senior Rowers that competed in the 8 (Emily P, Jacob N, Emily E, Marlene D, Kodee P, Cecilia T, Sam C, Ryan S, cox Ellouise R). The 8 is the pinnacle of rowing and it is not every year we have enough rowers to put an 8 on the water. So, it was exciting that this year we could, and nothing beats the power of 8 senior rowers in one boat. I hope that this is a memory the rowers will cherish, especially with receiving a silver for that event. The final event to take out the HOR trophy was an Open Mixed Quad. Our team of Emily E, Montana W, Sam C & Kodee P, cox Zac W put in an exceptional effort and came home with a bronze.
A big congratulations to all the rowers on their outstanding commitment to this oarsome sport and a huge THANK-YOU again to the parents, coaches and volunteers that assisted the rowers and the team throughout the local season. Check out our new team shirts and hats thanks to our sponsors. Next regatta we are travelling away to Rockhampton for the Central Queensland Championships on the Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June. Look forward to sharing the team’s success after the regatta.

Touch Football
Congratulations to Taylor D who made Queensland School Sport 16-18 years Girls Touch Football selection.
Last week, Taylor was selected in the Qld team to compete at the National Youth Championships at the Sunshine Coast from 27 September to 30 September 2023.
An outstanding achievement - we wish her well.
