Shalom College entered a team of three very enthusiastic students: Luke M (Year 9), Thomas B and Callum M (Year 10).
The boys have been working very hard on their innovative idea since Term 1. They have attended five, two hour, mentoring sessions early in term two working with industry specialists in the areas of business, finance and marketing.
The journey culminated in a presentation night on Wednesday 14 June where the boys pitched their idea to Bundaberg City Councilors, Mentors, Peers, Family and Friends and of course the judges.
Their innovative idea – Quick Q – was an app that aids students in submitting questions to their teacher without the possibility of them being judged.
They did a fantastic job and were very well spoken on the night. The responded to the judge’s questions with confidence. Whilst they did not win the competition, I have no doubt the boys will tell you that they thoroughly enjoyed the process and have learnt a lot over the past few months.
