Japanese Department Recap Term 2

At Shalom College, we believe in acknowledging the efforts of our students and providing them with a well-deserved break to celebrate their accomplishments. Last term, Year 8 and Year 9 students had the opportunity to enjoy unique end-of-term celebrations that left them with lasting memories.

For the Year 8 students, their commitment to meeting assessment deadlines did not go unnoticed. To commend their diligence and punctuality, we organised a special onigiri (Japanese rice cakes) party. It was a joyous occasion that served as a reminder of the importance of dedication and meeting deadlines.

Meanwhile, the Year 9 students embarked on an excursion to the Botanical Gardens. As they strolled through the Japanese garden, they were treated to an authentic sushi platter, expertly prepared by a local sushi chef. Surrounded by serene nature, they immersed themselves in the rich cultural experience, appreciating the flavours of Japan while reflecting on their own growth throughout the Semester.

Japanese Beautiful Words

Hinode, refers to the break of dawn or the sunrise.

A radiant source of inspiration illuminates the skies and awakens the spirit within. It embarks on a sacred journey, transcending boundaries and unveiling the enigmatic dance of solar energy. Through its watchful gaze, we glimpse the grandeur and majesty of our universe, reminding us of our humble place. Hinode's quest for knowledge ignites a fire within us, urging us to pursue our dreams, unravel mysteries, and embrace the boundless wonders that lie beyond the horizon. Here’s to a new term of learning, inspiration and quest to follow our dreams.
