Hockey - National Championships
Congratulations to Cohen U who has spent the last week representing Queensland in the Under 16 Boys Hockey Team at the Nationals in Adelaide.
Queensland was undefeated throughout the championship, preceding to the Grand Final. They won 2-1.
An outstanding achievement for Cohen and his team to compete at the Nationals. Go QLD!

Australian Kart Championships - City of Melbourne Titles
Congratulations Ky B. Ky competed in Melbourne recently, at the City of Melbourne Titles. He had an awesome weekend coming away with a win.
KA2 class:
Qualified 2nd
Heat 1 – 1st
Heat 2 – 6th
Heat 3 – 1st
Final – 1st
Ky returns in 2 weeks to compete in the final round of the Australian Kart Championships. Well done Ky and all the best for the final round.

2023 Vicki Wilson State Finals - Netball
Last weekend, Shalom College’s Junior Vicki Wilson team travelled to Brisbane to compete in the State Finals of the 2023 Vicki Wilson competition.
The team played their ‘Pool Rounds’ on Friday, facing some very tough competition in Moreton Bay College, Mountain Creek SHS and Canterbury College. The team finished the pool rounds with a win against St Eugene’s College, moving them into the playoffs for 9th-16th place.
During the ‘Finals’ round, the team played extremely well to record a strong win first up against St Patrick’s Mackay, before suffering a deflating loss to the Deadly Choices First Nations Invitational team. Moving into the playoff for 11th/12th place, the girls pulled themselves back up after this defeat and recorded a solid win against Wavell SHS, a netball school of excellence.
With over 200 teams starting the Vicki Wilson Competition, 11th place overall is an excellent achievement, and in the 2023 competition this also made the Shalom College Junior VW team the highest placed regional school in the competition. Great work team!
A very big thank you must go to our Team Manager (Ms Jess Richards) and Bus Driver & Head Cheerleader (Mr Craig Hammermeister) for also giving up their time over the weekend for the team.

Football - QLD State 10-12 years Boys Selection
Congratulations to Nick C who recently represented Wide Bay in Cairns for the Queensland State Schools Sport Championships 10-12 years Boys Football (soccer)
He was successful in gaining selection in the Qld Team and is one of only two regional boys in the whole team. He will represent Queensland at the Nationals in Victoria from Sunday 15 October 2023.
Congratulations on this achievement and all the best for the Nationals.
